PTO cannot be taken on some rotations. Also, residents will have four, 24-hour periods (one day in seven) free of patient care responsibilities each month, averaged over four weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Educational Leave (CME)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residents receive 5 days of continuing medical education leave.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Malpractice Insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The hospital will provide, without cost to the resident\/fellow, professional liability coverage for residency related training.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Educational Allowance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All Residents have $1,000.00 in allowance per academic year. Eligible expenses are defined as those that contribute to the knowledge base of the Resident for the practice of Family Medicine. These expenses are approved at the discretion of the Program Director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Professional Fees, Licenses and Dues<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PGY-1 residents have $1,000.00 in Board Fees, Licenses and Dues allowance. This category covers those expenses required by Hospitals Medical Staff or State\/Federal entities for Licenses and Dues in order to practice medicine. Licenses and Dues reimbursements are accepted according to the discretion of the Program. All Licenses and Dues requests must be approved by GME administrator\/Director at MCH.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>On-Duty Meal Allowance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monthly meal allowances provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Resident Wellness <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every consideration is given to provide support and resources to assist residents in finding an appropriate work balance. Further information is available through the GME office and program coordinator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>White Coats and Scrubs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two MCH-embroidered, personalized white coats and hospital scrubs are issued at the beginning of the initial year of the GME Program at MCH. One (1) additional coat will be provided at the start of Years 3 and 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Employee Assistance Program <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers free counseling services to help you and your loved ones deal with issues or problems that could potentially affect resident health, relationships, or job performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Fatigue Mitigation Transportation Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We care about resident safety! If a resident is too fatigued to safely drive home after a call shift, MCH will cover the cost of the ride home as well as the ride back to work the next day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"headline\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Moonlighting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moonlighting is allowable during PGY-2 and PGY-3.
